Precision Tools for Real-Time Bioprocessing

Modern bioprocessing demands clarity, speed, and flexibility. Our Ampha cell analyzers deliver all three — the benchtop Ampha X30 for the lab, and the portable Ampha X10 for the production floor.

Ampha X30

Ampha X30 Gerät in blau, stationärer Analyzer von Amphasys für label-free cell analysis und viability measurement, optimiert für Anwendungen in Bioprocessing und Pollenanalyse.

Built for bioprocessing, the Ampha X30 turns cellular signals into actionable insights. It requires minimal sample preparation and delivers results within seconds. Therefore, it provides immediate feedback on cell viability, cell count, and culture health. Let your cells guide smarter process optimization and production efficiency. Furthermore, you avoid laborious sample preparation like labelling, staining, or incubation.

Ampha X10

Built for the brewery floor, the Ampha X10 is the portable, battery-powered member of the family. It measures single-cell yeast viability, exponential growth and the ready-to-pitch amount from your sample in about a minute. Therefore, brewers act on real data instead of guesswork. Furthermore, it is completely label-free — no staining, no lab, no waiting.

Why Bioprocessing Users Trust Amphasys

Any Cell, Any Size

Amphasys technology measures a wide range of cell sizes — from 1 to 50 μm and beyond. From bacteria and yeast to mammalian cells and even spheroids, our electrical detection method allows accurate analysis of cell count, viability, and metabolic activity, regardless of size or media.

Label-Free Analysis

Amphasys enables direct measurement of cells without laborious sample preparation, delivering fast, accurate data. And because we don’t alter your cells, they remain intact for reuse in sorting or tissue cultureNo dyes. No markers. No incubation.

Real-Time Monitoring

Especially in process development and process control, the timely information is key to make decisions. While conventional methods usually need an incubation period, Amphasys’ technology only needs a minimal sample preparation to be ready for measurement — and results are available within seconds.

Applications Across Bioprocessing

The diversity of cell-based applications is as vast as the organisms themselves. From bacteria and yeast to mammalian cells, each cell type demands precise, real-time insight. Therefore, it drives process optimization and ensures quality.

That’s why bioprocessing teams need a flexible tool. It must adapt to every step and every species. Amphasys enables real-time, label-free single-cell analysis across all major cell types. As a result, it empowers faster decisions, more information, and better outcomes.

What makes Amphasys different from traditional flow cytometry?

Our technology uses impedance flow cytometry. This means we apply electrical detection instead of optical methods. Therefore, our technology is completely label-free. Additionally, it doesn't require hazardous and expensive reagents or apoptosis kits. Moreover, it needs no time-consuming sample preparation.

What makes Amphasys different from cell counters?

Our measuring principle is that every cell passes individually through a narrow channel and is automatically measured. In addition to counting, a lot more information is provided: viability, size, the cell health and metabolic status.

What cell types can I measure?

Our instruments support a wide range of cell types — including bacteria, yeast, algae, plant, human and animal cells. The Ampha X30 is optimized for cells between 1 and 50 μm, while other Amphasys systems enable analysis of larger cells up to 250 μm.

Can Amphasys measure in turbid or opaque media?

Absolutely. Our technology is impedance-based, not optical — which means it works reliably in turbid, opaque and auto-fluorescent media, or even food-based matrices like milk or fermentation broth. No need for clarification steps or optical transparency.
